Description
Overview
The Finance Task Force Manager provides interim on-property finance leadership (e.g., Acting DOF/ADOF) and leads financial setup and stabilization for transitioning properties. The role also supports forecasting, budgeting, and special financial and accounting projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and team performance; retrain staff as needed.
- Oversee Income Audit processes, ensuring accurate revenue recording, system integrations, tax compliance, and proper documentation.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensuring timely approvals, billing, and collections.
- Monitor and ensure timely payment of key obligations (taxes, insurance, regulatory, vendors).
- Lead month-end close, including P&L preparation, analysis, and coordination with RVPF/RDOF for review and finalization.
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
- Serve as Acting Director of Finance, providing leadership, training, and oversight to the accounting team.
- Partner with the GM and leadership team on forecasting, budgeting, labor analysis, and cash flow planning.
- Support audits by preparing required documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Assist with ownership reporting and ongoing financial analysis.
- Support weekly/monthly forecasts and annual budget processes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Pre-Transition Tasks: Support transition budget development and due diligence review; Coordinate setup of bank accounts, utilities, merchant services, and system access (Acumatica, ProfitSword, PMS/POS); Establish vendor records and review financials, insurance, and key agreements (e.g., PSA).
- Review HMA and manage prorations with sellers.
- Coordinate training, inventory counts, and system readiness.
- Develop stub budgets and assist with CAPEX planning.
- Finalize operational readiness (banking, MIDs, documentation).
- Post-Transition Tasks: Complete prorations and true-ups; Ensure full functionality of banking and financial processes; Onboard finance team (including DOF) and stabilize operations; Review ledgers, update contracts/vendors, and implement EOS financial processes (forecasting, close, reporting).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of hospitality finance experience, including transitions and task force roles.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Experience with systems such as Acumatica, ProfitSword, PMS/POS.
- Solid knowledge of accounting operations, financial reporting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Familiarity with GAAP and USALI.
- Strong communication and training abilities.
- Willingness to travel frequently (weekly, as needed).
Annual Salary range from $145,000 to $160,000; depending on geographic location.
