Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Assist in the execution of the month-end close process, including preparation of financial statements, journal entries, and accruals
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts in accordance with GAAP and established resort standards
  • Ensure accuracy of the P&L, verifying that costs are properly matched to revenue and recorded in the correct accounts
  • Manage accounts payable functions within the resort's purchase order system

Forecasting, Budgeting & Analysis

  • Support the Director of Finance in developing the annual operating budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Prepare financial analysis to assist leadership in variance explanation and achievement of financial goals
  • Analyze financial data and report on property performance trends to support operational decision-making
  • Identify opportunities to improve profit through cost control, efficiency, and process improvement

Controls & Compliance

  • Assist in developing and implementing financial controls and systems to manage business risk and safeguard resort assets
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, contractual agreements, and brand standards
  • Support internal and external audit processes, maintaining organized documentation and timely responses to inquiries
  • Maintain working knowledge of relevant contract elements including management agreements, fee structures, and reporting obligations

Leadership & Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Serve as a resource and point of contact for the Finance team in the Director of Finance's absence
  • Partner with department managers across the resort to provide financial guidance and support operational goals
  • Communicate financial results, variances, and projections clearly and professionally to property leadership
  • Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Finance department
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial data and sensitive resort information

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort environment
  • Solid knowledge of Acumatica and/or Birchstreet strongly preferred; experience with ProfitSword, OPERA, Micros, or Hotel Effectiveness a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and hospitality accounting practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to the demands of a dynamic, seasonal operation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively across departments
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information

Salary Range: $135,000 to $150,000
