Description

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook grill items such as burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken, pizza, and specialty menu items.
• Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies before service.
• Ensure food is prepared quickly, safely, and consistently according to resort standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grills, fryers, prep areas, and kitchen equipment.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
• Assist with food prep, inventory rotation, and restocking supplies.
• Monitor food temperatures and proper storage procedures.
• Provide friendly and professional interaction with guests.
• Assist with special events, cookouts, and seasonal activities hosted by the resort.

Qualifications

• Previous grill cook, line cook, or kitchen experience preferred.
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in hospitality, campground, or resort settings.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy periods.
• Positive attitude and strong customer service skills.

Working Conditions:

• Work in a fast-paced, high-energy kitchen environment. It will require evening, weekend, and/or holiday shifts based on business demands.
• Potential exposure to hot surfaces, sharp utensils, and cleaning chemicals.

This is a full-time, seasonal position working at Sun Outdoors New Orleans North Shore. Flexible schedule, with holidays and weekends required.
