Via Sophia is looking for a Restaurant Manager to assist the Restaurant General Manager in the day to day operations of the restaurant for the front of the house staff.

Candidates should have flexibility to work AM, PM and weekends.

Job Description

The Restaurant Manager will assist in the directing all aspects of food and beverage related execution according to Via Sophia Restaurant standards. The individual is responsible for overseeing the operation of all food and beverage outlets of our full-service property. Planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling of operational outlet functions. He/she will be responsible to coordinate the activities of the food and beverage staff to deliver highest quality product and service to all guests. Also responsible for training food and beverage outlet associates for an efficient operation. Responsible for organizing and conducting pre-shift meetings, schedules and directing the team in their work assignments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Attain budgeted revenue and net operating income.
  • Controlling all cost centers via a checkbook system of purchasing.
  • Assure product quality and consistency is maintained.
  • Continuous evaluation and improvement of the operations.
  • Oversee all hiring and training procedures.
  • Promote inter-company business relations…share best practices.
  • Daily communication with the Restaurant General Manager
  • Perform coaching, training and development with direct reports.
  • Assure that the budgeting process is performed accurately and efficiently.
  • Promote guest satisfaction throughout the operation.
  • Promote creativity and innovation with the staff.
  • Encourages a positive attitude among employees and treats guests and fellow employees with courtesy and respect.
  • Support business strategies which are aligned with the Hotel overall mission, vision, values and strategies.
  • Maintain positive guest and associate relations at all times.
  • To be an integral part of the development of future projects in the company.
  • Support human resource activities.

Desired Qualifications

  • Must have strong and extensive knowledge of steps of service, SOP's, dining and team training.
  • Must have at least 2-3 years of progressive combined experience in a hotel food and beverage department and in free-standing high-volume restaurants.
  • Must have restaurant opening experience.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Must have effective organization, guest relations, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
  • Must have and/or have the ability to obtain Food Handlers and TIPS certification Card.
