Department: Food & Beverage – Front of House
Direct Report: Front of House Supervisor / Restaurant Manager / Restaurant General Manager
Purpose: Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso beverages, and light food offerings at Beach House Bar while delivering exceptional guest service, maintaining operational standards, and supporting a welcoming, coastal guest experience aligned with EOS Hospitality and Sanderling Resort values.

The Sanderling Resort, located in Duck, North Carolina, is the premier oceanfront destination in the Outer Banks, offering refined coastal hospitality and memorable guest experiences.
Beach House Bar is a casual, coastal-driven outlet offering coffee, beverages, and light fare in a relaxed, guest-focused environment. The outlet supports both resort guests and local visitors, providing a convenient and elevated experience centered around quality products and friendly service.
The Barista plays a key role in creating a positive first impression for guests by delivering consistent beverage quality, efficient service, and a warm, engaging experience.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages in accordance with established recipes and quality standards
- Provide friendly, efficient, and engaging service to all guests, creating a welcoming and approachable atmosphere
- Take guest orders accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle transactions responsibly
- Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, including beverage options, food items, and daily specials
- Ensure consistent beverage quality, presentation, and portioning standards
- Assist with preparation and service of light food offerings as needed
- Monitor product levels and communicate restocking needs to leadership
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas including espresso machines, counters, storage areas, and guest-facing spaces
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of products
- Complete opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
- Support team members and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment
- Assist other Food & Beverage outlets as needed based on operational demand
- Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to leadership when appropriate
- Ensure compliance with all company policies including responsible cash handling, time and attendance, and uniform standards
- Attend required meetings and training sessions
- Comply with all policies outlined in the Handbook, Property Supplement, and company guidelines
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Ability to stand and remain active for up to 8–10 hours
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
- Ability to use repetitive hand movements for beverage preparation
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
- Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, weekends, and holidays
TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT USED:

- Espresso Machines and Coffee Equipment (grinders, brewers, milk steamers)
- Blenders and Small Kitchen Equipment

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Work will take place in a casual, guest-facing café and bar environment within a resort setting
- Fast-paced environment with variable business levels depending on seasonality and time of day
- Exposure to hot equipment, steam, and food and beverage preparation areas
- Combination of independent tasks and team-based service
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Prior barista or food and beverage experience preferred but not required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work as part of a team and support overall operations
- Positive attitude and passion for hospitality
- Successful completion of satisfactory background check
- Available and willing to work flexible hours based on business needs
