Description
The Marina Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient, and guest-focused operation of all wet services and dock management at Hawks Cay Resort. This role coordinates dockhands and helpers to deliver smooth wet-slip docking, fueling, maintenance, and housekeeping while maintaining the highest standards of safety, appearance, and service. The Supervisor sets daily assignments and schedules, ensures grounds, equipment, and buildings are aesthetically and operationally excellent and fully compliant with legal requirements, and trains and develops the marina team.
Key Responsibilities- Identify maintenance, repair, and housekeeping needs; work with supervisors to set priorities and schedules.
- Maintain accurate checklists and records of maintenance and repairs (fueling equipment, docks, piers, emergency/safety equipment, outside lighting, bait systems, etc.).
- Operate within expense budgets for maintenance and related activities.
- Maintain wet-slip rental inventory.
- Manage retail inventories for fuel, ice, bait, and oil.
- Maintain supply inventories for maintenance, cleaning, bathroom supplies, tools, oil-spill equipment, and filters.
- Support special marina functions and events (tournaments, etc.).
- Perform marina store duties including opening/closing, inventory assistance, and writing sales tickets.
- Operate the VHF base radio proficiently.
- Know and enforce hurricane, storm, fire, first-aid, freeze, and oil-spill procedures; coordinate dockhands and helpers during these events.
- Understand live-bait keeping procedures and applicable laws.
- Know all harbor regulations, contractual provisions, and enforcement policies; maintain strong working relationships with the Coast Guard and other federal agencies.
- Assume additional responsibilities in the absence of the Marina Director.
- Train all dockhands, fuel attendants, and launch-boat operators.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Marina Director/Dockmaster.
- Ability to swim; knowledge of man-overboard procedures; CPR and basic first-aid trained (or ability to obtain promptly).
- Pleasant, professional personality with the ability to work effectively with guests, co-workers, and local law-enforcement agencies.
- Minimum one year of experience working at a large-scale luxury marina.
- Strong experience handling boats of various sizes.
- Reliable cell phone for emergency contact.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
- Flexible schedule: typically 40–50 hours per week depending on season; regular weekends and holidays required; on-call for emergencies and storms.
