Description

A Banquet Captain is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of banquet events, ensuring a smooth and successful experience for guests. Key duties include managing staff, setting up and breaking down event spaces, liaising with the Director of Banquets to understand the client's needs, and ensuring high service standards are maintained throughout the event. The Banquet Captain also assists with handling logistics and resolves any issues that may arise during the event. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing banquet event setup and ensuring all details are in line with client requirements
  • Coordinating with the kitchen staff and chefs to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food and beverages
  • Ensuring that the presentation of food and beverages meet the hotel’s standards
  • Directing banquet staff throughout the event, ensuring they provide excellent customer service
  • Addressing and resolving any issues or complaints from guests in a professional and timely manner
  • Monitoring and managing inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Communicating with clients before, during and after the event to ensure satisfaction and to build relationships for future bookings
  • Providing training and guidance to banquet staff as needed
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event evaluations
